PostgreSQL connections through Airbrx now work like direct ones, Databricks model serving can be cached, and you can sign in with an email link. You don't need to change anything. If you use PostgreSQL with deny rules, check the known limits.
New
- Sign in with an email link. The sign-in and sign-up screens now offer an email link alongside Google and Microsoft.
- Caching for Databricks model serving. Model-serving requests can now be cached and governed by rules, the same way SQL is. Nothing changes until you add a rule. A cached response is only returned for an identical request, and prompt text is never written to logs. See Operation in the rule schema.
- Model serving in your dashboard. Model-serving requests now appear in dashboard summaries and the query log, whether or not they're cached.
Improved
- Full PostgreSQL support.
COPY,LISTEN/NOTIFY, notices, and query cancel now work through Airbrx the way they do on a direct connection. - Faster PostgreSQL queries. Latency per query through Airbrx is now close to a direct connection's.
- PostgreSQL in Insights. PostgreSQL traffic now appears on the dashboard and in Insights alongside Databricks and Snowflake.
- Clearer login errors. When your database refuses a PostgreSQL login, the query log now shows the database's reason.
- SELECT rules cover combined queries. Rules that match
SELECTnow also matchUNION,INTERSECT, andEXCEPT. - Stricter deny rules. If your tenant has deny rules, statements Airbrx can't evaluate are now refused on every engine instead of being passed through. See Deny rules.
Known limits
- PostgreSQL with deny rules:
COPYandLISTEN/NOTIFYare refused. - Data loaded with
COPYmay not show up in cached results until those results expire. - A slow-starting
COPYis stopped if its first row takes longer than the query timeout, 30 seconds by default. - Query cancel needs an encrypted connection. Use libpq 17 or later. Cancels from older libpq and from pgjdbc are refused.
- SCRAM channel binding isn't supported in relay mode. Connect with
channel_binding=disable.
